Author
of Mystery and Suspense Novels

YOU’RE INVITED TO A PARTY!
I’m excited to announce that we’re returning to BOYDS BEAR COUNTRY in Gettysburg, PA, for the national launch of THE CLOCKWORK TEDDY! The event is on Saturday, October 4th, 2008, and we hope to see you there.
"Once
you start, you can't bear to miss a teddy mystery."
-- Rita Mae Brown, New York Times best-selling author of
the Mrs. Murphy mysteries
“[A] fun series… Don’t be fooled by the teddy-bear theme. Lamb’s mysteries are full-bodied police procedurals.”
-- Richmond (VA) Times-Dispatch
John
Lamb knows more about real murders than most of his fellow mystery
authors because he used to investigate them professionally. During
his distinguished eighteen-year career as a Southern California
cop, he served as a homicide investigator, hostage negotiator, and
detective sergeant. It's this unmistakable atmosphere of authenticity-and
his keen insights into human behavior-that make his mystery and
suspense novels so satisfying to read.
John is the author of the popular “Bear Collector” mystery series from Berkley Prime Crime. The first book in the series was The Mournful Teddy (August 2006), which debuted at the top of the Independent Mystery Booksellers Association’s best-seller list and was also a finalist for the prestigious “Dilys” Award. In June 2007, The False-Hearted Teddy was released and it too debuted in the number one slot on the IMBA best-seller list. The third book in the series is The Crafty Teddy, and it also debuted in the number one slot of the IMBA list. The Clockwork Teddy is the highly anticipated fourth book in the series and will arrive in bookshops on October 1, 2008. John’s other books include his debut mystery, Echoes of the Lost Order, and the nonfiction San Diego Specters. Click on the “books” icon find out more about his books.
Along
with being a talented writer, John is also a riveting public speaker.
He's spoken at such diverse venues as the San Diego Museum of Man,
the Sleuthfest Mystery Author Conference in Fort Lauderdale, Florida,
the University of San Diego, and the Malice Domestic mystery conference.
His "Homicide 101" lecture gets rave reviews. Click
